RO:

EN:
"Reach" is a recent addition to our debut album, “Father Time – Part I”, having been written in 2019. It is a complex piece which metaphorically presents a journey of self-discovery. By navigating the maze of doubt and despair, the lyrical ego seeks truth about their own existence. The first part of the song, “Cathartic Comatose”, has a traditional song structure and uses verses, choruses, instrumental segments and so on. At half-point though, the song is broken apart and the second part, “Soliloquy”, takes form. The second part is solemn moment of realization, a recital behind which orchestral music and metal unfold in total synergy. The use of French horns invokes the styles of Hans Zimmer and ensures the song is driven forward to resolution. The journey ends when the lyrical ego discovers themselves, (possibly) a discovery which is more important than winning the war against Father Time.
The artwork which accompanies the song in the band’s videos represents a wasteland – a place we wish to escape from all our lives. These are the barren hills of not knowing who or what we are.

lyrics

1. Cathartic Comatose

Life lived in ruins, love’s grim undoings
Mother, you were always so right
Years passing by me, fears lurk inside me
Father, I am lost, bring me home!

Help me, help me find my way
Save me, hide me from the pain

Reach out, free me
Help me chase away the Time

There shall come a day when I’ll run away
My Quest may only end when I’m no more
Redamancy, sour epiphany
I’ll leave you as prey to the light!

Help me, bring about that day
Save me, hide me from the pain

Don’t wait, I’m ready
Reach out for me

“Mortal, there shall be no escape”

And when the lights go down
When the sun is set
Will you reach for me?

I’ll open up
I’ll take my chance
Don’t let me rot!
Don’t punish me!

2. Soliloquy

“And it’s haunting me, this little Eden that I’ve found. I thought I could be close to the end of the tunnel but the light only got dimmer, my restlessness becoming second nature. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
What have I done wrong, you ask. One day I will find out, one day when my Quest shall reach its end and the one-way road to forsakenness will turn into Redamancy. I do long for that, and in Sequences, and as you might’ve guessed, I cannot control the Sequences.
The Mother and the Father have departed. This lurid Eden I found is now all that remains and what remains of me is all but empty canvas akin to naked sheets of music. Where has the music gone? Did Time steal it as well? Just as it stole my dreams, I suppose. Just as it stole you from me.
But in the midst of chaos and bedlam, reveries have struck me. And in this cathartic comatose which swept me beyond daydreaming I have seen reason and I have tasted belief. The clock is ticking but the world is moving – death is luring but life is willing to resist.
Through Still Life we shall uncover the past, and creations will then become immortal. And with them we will last, beyond the Father’s domain, in the garden where no poisoned song may be heard calling with the siren’s sensuous tongue.
All we need is one spark – a moment, if you will. Once I hold on to this moment, never will I let go. The circle will have been completed – the poet and the play will have been readied – Kronos will have fallen.
Know that I did not yet reach the gates at the end of this orchard of Time, but nonetheless I have found something of much greater value:
I have reached the way. I have found myself.”
